Abstract
The yachting design in the last years has been characterized by a continuous growing of window dimensions both below and above freeboard deck and consecutively of the glass panes. This concept already developed in the civil architecture allows to obtain large open spaces ideally in contact with the external environment. The aim of this paper is to present the test method detailed in the EN 1288 – 3 applied to the scantling of window for a new mega yacht, according to the statistical approach developed by Lloyd’s Register and to compare the behaviour of two set of laminated glass having the same composition but glued respectively with PVB and SGP adhesive.
Key words : Window, laminated glass, EN 1288-3, PVB adhesive, SGP adhesive
