A member of the General Confederation of Italian Industry, in the section for Ship-Engineering, Shipbuilding and Pleasure Craft, the Centre is present in UNI in naval welding and non-destructive tests commissions as well as in UNIMET in the working groups “Light Metals and their Alloys” and “Corrosion”. Since 1998 the Director has been a member of the Working Group 16 CEN TC 132 “Light Alloys for Marine Use”.
Since 2001 CTS is fiduciary laboratory of ANCCP, National Agency for Certification of Components and Products, for Pleasure Boating. In 2002 CTS became a member of ALIG, Association of Engineering and Geotechnical Laboratories. It is also a member of TECNOMAR, Ligurian Consortium of Small and Middle Businesses in the Marine Technologies District.
Within Docup Objective 2 Action 4.1 (1994-1996 and 1997-1999) it has developed the following feasibility studies in collaboration respectively with ALENIA DIFESA Div. OTO BREDA and S.C.A.M. soc. cons. r.l.:

“Technological Adaptation of the Production Activities connected to Shipbuilding” – FINCANTIERI” in collaboration with GESTA s.a.s.
“Transfer of Innovative Technologies to the Small and Middle Businesses in La Spezia operating in TITANIUM Machining Sector” in collaboration with S.C.A.M. soc. cons. r.l.
In 2006 it participated to the implementation of Project PRAI N° 23 – Program PRAI FESR LIGURIA – “Building of Boats with High-Quality Material with High Performances and Low Environmental Impact”.
